Today was an unusual day for me in many ways. I woke up and realized that something I had worked on for years was finally out into the marketplace to find its way in the world.
Besides the creative writing and music I have done for 27 years, I have a 501 (c) 3 Animal Sanctuary with many animals both great and small. I have been writing many of their stories for years now.
One of the “All Things Adventure” in the near future will be
“The Adventures of the Ani-pals”
that live here at the Sanctuary.
I plan on a complete series entitled
“The Great Mother Storybooks” …
You might wonder why I call them the Great Mother storybooks? …
All my Ani-pal friends see me as their
“Great Mother”
because I feed and care for them everyday in every way …
That makes me great to them:)
I bet all of you have a “Great Mother” also …
These storybooks will be about all the adventures
I have had over many years with all my special Ani-pal friends.
Many of my friends have gone on to greener pastures …
Many still remain …
None will be forgotten …
They will live on through the adventure stories …
They all have such beautiful stories to tell through this new book series…
So stay tuned …
Today, I am going to share one story of a little bunny named “Thumper” who almost came to live with us here at the Sanctuary …
Remember, I said “almost” …
Here is his story…

“For the Love of Bunny”
One day The Great Mother had an idea.
Today I am going to look for a bunny…a bunny that is darling, sweet and special.
Great Mother looked and looked everywhere.
Finally, she saw the picture of a very special bunny whose name was Thumper.
She knew he was the bunny that she would like to have come live with her and all her AniPal friends.
He had long droopy ears, a fuzzy little body and lots of love in his big brown eyes.
There was one problem, however, that The Great Mother didn’t know.
The family that had raised and loved Thumper could not decide to let Thumper go.
It seemed every time they thought they could let Thumper come to live with The Great Mother, it wasn’t possible to send him away to another home to live.
Back and forth…back and forth…yes and no…yes and no… Thumper should stay…no Thumper should go …
All Because of “Love”.
Some people love animals…some love their families the most, and then there are those who love “money” more.
The Great Mother realized that Thumper was not to leave the family that couldn’t decide.
She realized that Thumper was loved very much by each one in that family.
Even though Thumper would have had a beautiful home with The Great Mother taking special care of him, she realized that in his little heart Thumper belonged to those around him from the day he was born.
The Great Mother realized, too, that the family who had raised Thumper loved him too much to let him go.
So, she smiled and ended the story with a very special thought…
There is a saying in the world of people. That saying is:
“For the Love of Money”.
The Great Mother said, I prefer to change the saying now.
Because this family changed their mind and decided to keep Thumper, I say, their minds were changed…
