The Grand Finale
A Winter Day
Mr. Sun’s Song Part I
NARRATOR: Next morning as the new light came and children winged towards play again…
The Snowman wasn’t there today…his fragile frame had slipped away.
The children in the houses awaken. Mr. Sun comes up and it is the next morning in this small winter town.
Mr. Sun’s Song Part II
Mr. Sun’s rays are very bright and warm and the children slept and Snowman wept for he was melting fast.
The words he spoke just yesterday, would surely be his last…for Mr. Sun was shining bright on Old Jack Frost and Winter White.
(The doors open to the houses and the children come running out)
Mr. Sun’s Song Part III
NARRATOR: When the children ran outside, they flew once more to see The Snowman and be his friend.
But, the day was so hot that The Snowman was not…except for a puddle, again.
A puddle left in winter snow was all that there was left to show…where love had been in all their heart’s only yesterday.
(Very sadly)
The Children sing
“The Second Song of the Children”
After the song is sung, suddenly from up in the sky The Snowman waves down to the children and sings
“The Snowman’s Song”
(The Children look surprised and happy)
THE CHILDREN: We love you Snowman they all said with shouts that raised above their heads.
Oh, won’t you stay just one more day to be our friend, don’t melt away!
THE SNOWMAN: I’ll come back to you again…on some other winter morn. I’ll fall in snowflakes from the sky and you will know me by my smile. Goodbye for now…I’ll see you soon…underneath the Dancing Moon.
Then together we can say…let’s be friends this sunny day. In another place and time, our Song won’t end our Dance will shine.
Thank you, my friends, I thank you so…your memory will stay wherever I go.
Thank you my friends, I love you, too…and
I will always remember you. I will always remember you.
(The Snowman’s words fade out)
(At the end of The Snowman’s words…the lights dim, the Dreamland Carousel turns slower and slower as
“Children Have Never Stopped Dreaming” plays)
GRANDE FINALE
“Children Have Never Stopped Dreaming”
All the characters come on stage and bow together holding hands and waving to the audience…
The curtain falls and the Season of Winter comes to an end once more…
The small town which lays between two lakes goes back to sleep until next year
See you then…
